HAPPY HOUR CART
Living in New York is one of the greatest experiences in almost every aspect besides home space. It is well known that city apartments are small, but for a city that loves energy, spaces often can’t express that energy. The Happy Hour cart is a compact yet complete bar cart that creates space and flow within the home at happy hour.
IDEATION
Initial sketches and prototypes for form and function.
I did a few rough sketches figuring out form as a whole but also the details of the bar cart. I knew I wanted there to be a multi-purpose aspect to the cart so I drafted various ideas of movement and compartments within the bar cart.
Since there was a point for this to be made for smaller spaces an aspect of hosting had to be considered. This is where I thought to include chairs into the body to be able to expand and collapse the hosting space around the cart.

FINAL CONCEPT
The final consisted of renders and a rough prototype to simply visualize the final result.
-
I was never a fan of overly soft chairs, therefore went for a more rigid approach in the form.
-
The main purpose is to bring comfort to my daily routine - therefore a very personal design perspective to this piece.
-
I imagine this beside my bed, or the mirror for when I get up to get ready, or before I unwind at night.
